An overnight stay at the fishing lodges

With the announcement that soon we should at least be able to take a night away somewhere I thought it was the perfect time to write about a stay I took last year, at the Waterfront Lodges.

Based in Bedworth, Warwickshire the lodge is set on a fishing lake and is the perfect combination of feeling wonderfully rural, whilst still being close enough to be able to jump in the car and grab any amenities you may need within a few miles.

We booked the Premium King Suite, with Balcony. This was a 2 bedroom suite, with a living area, kitchen as well as a large bathroom that offered both a shower and jacuzzi bath. The cost for the night was £139. Unfortunately I didn’t grab any images of the room, as I was far too busy spending all my time outside on the terrace!

With COVID regulations in place some of the facilities of the lodge were not available, such as the dining area, however the in room facilities more than made up for that. As we knew the kitchen wouldn’t be open we’d bought a number of deli bits to keep us satisfied.

The staff were extremely friendly and chatty and were on hand to offer us anything we may need. The stay was initially cancelled, due to COVID, and the staff were very good at helping us reschedule the stay for another time that suited us.

We were blessed to visit when the sun was shining and it was lovely to be able to take the opportunity to relax, sit out on the terrace and enjoy the tranquillity. I learnt how to play chess and plenty of wine was consumed!
